Children's Programs and Services

Join in the fun! We offer a variety of children's programs every month. Below is information on our core, on-going programs. Check out our Event Calendar and Newsletter to see all the exciting programs happening this month.

Lego Club

Mondays 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Complete a challenge, follow a pattern, or use your imagination to make something new - however you like to build, you're sure to create something amazing at Lego Club! For ages five+. Free. Drop-in.

Baby Time

Tuesdays 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. Meet new friends, sing songs, and enjoy stories with your little one. For ages zero with a parent/caregiver. Free. Pre-registration required.

Children's Chess Club

Tuesdays 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. This club is open to children of all experience levels, including those interested in learning how to play the game. Pre-registration required. Free. For ages eight to 14.

Kid's Craft Cart

Wednesdays 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. We bring the craft supplies; you bring the creativity. Create something unique to you at our Craft Cart. For families. Free. Drop-in.

Story Time With Shelly

Saturdays 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Meet us in the Children's Room for a fun, free, family story time. All ages. Free. Drop-in.

PD Day activities

Families are invited to join us for a fun activity every PD Day. For ages six to 12 with a parent/caregiver. Free. Drop-in.
Scavenger hunt

Scavenger hunt

Find all of the scavenger hunt items and win a small prize. This program runs in the Children's Room every day with a new theme each week. Drop-in.
Monthly bookmark contest

Monthly bookmark contest

Make it at home or at the library--we'll supply the paper and the theme. Submit your design by the end of the month for a chance to be our featured artist for the following month. Available in the Children's Room. Free.

Class visits

From October to May each school year, we offer class visits for our local schools. Are you a teacher in the Port Colborne area? Please contact us to register your class for a visit to the library. If you can't visit the library, contact us and we will arrange to visit you!
